
44% of Filipinos believe that the Senate is deliberately delaying the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte, according to a new Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey conducted on June 25–29, 2025. According to the results, more believe that senators do not want the trial to move forward.
In the same survey, only 25% said it was not delayed, while 22% were unsure. Nine percent (9%) said they did not know enough about the issue.
The survey also revealed that more Filipinos disagree with the impeachment complaint against VP Duterte. Up to 42% oppose the complaint, while 32% agree. The remaining percentage is either undecided or does not have enough information.
Support for the impeachment complaint was highest in Metro Manila (42%), followed by Luzon (40%), Visayas (28%), and Mindanao (13%). Of those opposed, the majority were from Mindanao (65%).
In total, 59% of respondents said they were aware of impeachment, while only 41% heard about it for the first time during the survey interview itself.
