A motorist was surprised when a man suddenly crossed while he was traveling along the southbound lane of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in Calamba City. According to Joseph Dela Rosa, who uploaded the video, it was past 1 a.m. when he saw the man wearing a green shirt quickly crossing the expressway.
The driver narrowly avoided the man after he swerved the utility van to the left, but the side mirror still caught him, shattering it. The vehicle spun around but he quickly parked it on the side of the road.
When Dela Rosa returned, the man was already standing and miraculously uninjured. It was learned that he was not a SLEX employee but a trader who collected steel from construction sites along the expressway.
The 30-year-old man is now in the custody of SLEX patrollers and will be charged for the incident.
Dela Rosa was thankful that he was not injured. Other motorists requested that the guards be tightened at SLEX because this is not the first time a trader has crossed the road.
