The Department of Justice (DOJ) said that there were government officials allegedly involved in the case of missing sabangero in 2022.
According to DOJ Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, more than 100 sabungeros were suspected of being involved in the scam and are believed to have been killed and dumped in Taal Lake.
The DOJ reminds that the investigation into the disappearance cases is still ongoing and hopes for the public's help for additional information.
Authorities are now also focusing on the alleged connection of several people with government positions to the crime.
The DOJ hopes that justice will be provided to the families of the missing sabangero as soon as possible.
