A call center agent lost his cellphone after it was snatched by a riding-in-tandem while he was waiting for a ride in Barangay San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal on Friday night, June 20, 2025. The incident was clearly captured on CCTV where two female employees were on the side of the road in the Riverside area when the suspects suddenly arrived.
The snatchers immediately fled away after taking the cellphone, but they were encountered by patrolling police. A concerned rider provided information to the police about the incident, prompting them to immediately respond.
One of the suspects was caught after jumping off the motorcycle, and through a follow-up operation, his fellow rider was also tracked down. The cellphone was recovered as well as the motorcycle used in the crime. It was learned that they had previously been imprisoned for drugs and were on the barangay watchlist.
The two suspects, aged 24 and 20, are friends and residents of Barangay San Isidro. One of them said, “We were just wandering around. I will explain in court.”
The two are currently detained at the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station and will face charges of Robbery/Snatching.
