Nike has released a clearer preview of its new road running shoes. The new Nike Vomero Premium and Vomero Plus are designed for more comfortable running, using new technologies like ReactX foam that is 13% more responsive and more eco-friendly—carbon emissions are reduced by 43% compared to the previous foam.
The Vomero Premium has Nike's highest heel stack height, at 55mm, features a ZoomX midsole, and features Zoom Air units in the forefoot and rearfoot. The result is a more responsive and flexible stride. Meanwhile, the Vomero Plus uses engineered mesh in the upper, has a fit band in the midfoot, and has additional foam padding in the collar and tongue for a more secure fit.
The new lineup will be released this Fall 2025. First on the list is the Vomero Premium which will arrive on October 2 at select retailers, followed by a global release on October 16. The lineup aims to simplify the choice of running shoes for all types of runners—from those looking for soft cushioning to those who want a more responsive ride.
The Vomero is the softest of Nike's three main shoes, followed by the Pegasus with balanced cushioning and energy return, and the Structure for those who need support and stability. All of these come in three versions: Icon, Plus, and Premium, with different technologies for a more elevated running experience.
According to Marian Dougherty, senior director of Nike running footwear, “We know runners just want shoes that are perfect for their daily runs. They don't have to think too much. So we've clarified each model to make it easier to choose.”
