A museum in Verona, Italy is searching for two tourists involved in the destruction of a priceless artwork. In a video taken from the Palazzo Maffei Museum, the two tourists can be seen exchanging shots while posing on a chair with Swarovski crystals made by artist Nicola Bolla.
As the woman sat down slightly without holding onto the chair, the man sat down and slipped back, causing the artwork to break. The chair, known as Van Gogh’s Chair, is a extremely dangerous art piece, according to the museum. After the incident, the two immediately ran out and never returned.
According to the museum management, the chair has been repaired and they have filed a complaint with the police. Bolla, the artist, said, “It's a bit of a stupidity, but for me, there's a little bit of a positive side to it—it's like performance art from an ordinary person.”
