A 28-year-old man is currently detained at the San Mateo Police Custodial Facility after being arrested in a case involving illegal drugs and gambling on June 4 in San Mateo, Rizal.
While in jail on June 10, police conducted a background check and discovered that the man still had an old warrant of arrest. This was allegedly for rape and molestation of his underage cousin.
According to the police, the crime occurred in January 2016 where he allegedly twice molested and raped the victim, who was 13 years old at the time. They are said to be related, and are considered second degree cousins.
Police Colonel Felipe Maraggun said the man is facing a case of 2 counts of sexual abuse ordered by the Regional Trial Court. He is also one of the most wanted in the province of Rizal due to the gravity of the case.
Currently, the investigation is ongoing while the accused awaits formal trial in separate cases of drugs, gambling, and rape.
