The Bureau of Immigration (BI) arrested three Korean foreigners after they were caught working illegally at a private resort in General Trias, Cavite. The operation was conducted on May 22 with the assistance of the Philippine Navy and Philippine National Police.
The foreigners were identified as Oh Hyunsik (51), Kim Haeyoung (48), and Kim Seoyeong (45). According to BI Intelligence Division Chief Fortunato Manahan Jr., they did not have work permits and proper visas while working in the country.
Based on the BI's record, the three clearly violated the immigration laws of the Philippines. Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado commended the arrest and reiterated that all foreigners in the country must follow the law.
Currently, the three remain at the BI facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig while their deportation process is being handled.
