The LTO in Western Visayas has issued a show cause order against a vlogger after a video of him performing a “Superman” stunt on a motorcycle went viral. He was wearing only a brief and a crop top as he lay on the motorcycle and sped along the road in Barangay San Isidro, Ibajay, Aklan.
According to Atty. Gaudioso Geduspan II, Regional Director of LTO-6, this is clearly reckless driving, in violation of Section 48 of Republic Act 4136. Engr. Marlon Velez of LTO Kalibo added, “As a content creator, he should set a good example.”
In the investigation, it was revealed that Boy Kayak (real name: Jimmy Lagunday Catarata) does not have a valid driver’s license. He was given five days to explain why he should not be disqualified from holding a license for life.
Catarata said he only did it for entertainment and had no bad intentions. “I hope they understand, it was just for entertainment. I didn't hurt anyone,” he said.
Now, he has been slapped with a P3,000 fine for driving without a license. According to Joint Administrative Order No. 2014-01, he could also be disqualified from obtaining a license for life.
