A court in Angeles, Pampanga has issued an arrest warrant against Harry Roque and 10 others for alleged human trafficking at a POGO hub in Porac. Also named is Cassandra Ong, allegedly a representative of Lucky South 99.
On May 8, RTC Judge Rene Reyes signed the warrant after finding probable cause under the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003. The cases are non-bailable, meaning they cannot be granted bail.
According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), Roque is allegedly involved in the operation of the POGO hub — not only as a lawyer for Whirlwind Corporation, which leased the land, but also as a representative of the company itself.
Roque left the country in September after being subpoenaed by Congress for refusing to appear before a hearing on illegal POGO activities. He is now in the Netherlands and has sought asylum, allegedly due to political persecution.
The DOJ plans to block his asylum request and place him on an Interpol red notice for arrest abroad. According to Undersecretary Nicholas Ty, this will be the next step once the warrant is active.
