
The imprisoned pastor and senatorial candidate Apollo Quiboloy has requested a manual recount from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC). He is 31st place in the latest vote count with 5,577,812 votes.
According to Atty. Israelito Torreon, Quiboloy's legal counsel, they decided to request a recount due to ul reported irregularities such as discrepancies in election returns, incompatible firmware versions, and cases of overvoting.
Torreon clarified that this request is not against the Comelec, but to ensure that the results of the election are true and clean. They want to ensure that the voice of the people prevails.
Quiboloy is a leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ ministry and is currently incarcerated. He faces child abuse, sexual abuse,, and human trafficking charges in the Philippines and the United States.
