A billionaire in Oklahoma, USA, decided to bury a luxury car in memory of his state's 50th anniversary in 1957. For him, it was a special way to leave a legacy for future generations. He bought a Plymouth car, an expensive and modern vehicle at the time, and buried it underground.
To ensure the car's durability, it was placed in a concrete container and covered with several blankets. Several local memorabilia and gasoline and oil bottles were placed inside in preparation for any future changes in the energy source. A monument was also built above ground to easily locate the car's location.
After 50 years, in 2007, the area was opened and the car was searched for as part of the centennial celebration. To everyone's surprise, they discovered the car was full of water and the interior was covered in mud and rust. Only some parts of the fenders and doors have their shine left, while the mementos inside are almost completely destroyed.
Despite all the protection, the car still could not escape the effects of the passage of time. In the end, the car was sent to a museum to show people how time cannot be stopped, and how things are affected by nature.
