On Thursday morning, a man became the center of attention on EDSA-Buendia after repeatedly riding and clinging to moving vehicles. This caused fear and apprehension among motorists due to the danger posed by his actions.
According to the uploader of the viral video, he noticed the man choosing different cars whenever traffic stopped. He tried to intervene and prevent a possible accident by making noise so that other people would notice. “When it stops, he chooses another car, makes it stop, and then gets back in. So I've come up with a way to stop it,” said Mar On The Road, the uploader.
While trying to stop him, the man still ran and tried to get on the motorcycle. The incident led to a chase by motorists and bystanders until help arrived from DOTr-SAICT and MMDA personnel. The man was eventually caught at a gas station and taken into custody.
After the arrest, the man was brought to Makati City Police Sub-Station 6, where police were waiting for possible complainants. According to Police Captain Philadiane Fronee Clemeña, no complaint was filed against the man, and investigation revealed that the said individual has no criminal record or outstanding warrant of arrest.
According to Eala, it was special for him to play in his home country and witness the growth of tennis in the country. His win is not only a personal achievement, but also a symbol of the elevation of Philippine tennis on the international stage. All eyes are now on Eala as he continues his historic journey in the tournament.
