Bandai Namco Filmworks has released a new trailer for Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway – The Sorcery of Nymph Circe, featuring the opening theme song “Snooze” by SZA. From his 2022 album SOS, the track has a soft melody and delicate vocals that add emotional depth to the footage, which showcases themes of devotion, conflict, and inner turmoil. The trailer was released on the official Gundam YouTube channel, giving fans a first glimpse of how the smooth R&B hit will fit into the cinematic world of Gundam.
The film is a highly anticipated follow-up to the Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway saga that first premiered in 2021 and achieved huge box office success. The story is set in U.C. 0105, and continues the emotional drama of the character Hathaway Noa, the daughter of the legendary Bright Noa. As the leader of the anti-Federation movement MAFTY, Hathaway's path is closely connected to Gigi Andalucia and Captain Kenneth Sleg, a Federation officer.
As Hathaway prepares for a critical air raid on the Adelaide conference, past traumas continue to haunt her, while Federation forces plan a counter-operation to wipe out her group. The film offers emotionally intense and high-stakes scenes, which Gundam fans are sure to enjoy.
The film will be released in Japan on January 30, 2026, and is expected to be followed by nationwide screenings in the US. It is directed by Shukou Murase in SUNRISE, and will once again star the lead cast Kensho Ono as Hathaway Noa and Reina Ueda as Gigi Andalucia, accompanied by music composition by Hiroyuki Sawano.
With a collaboration with SZA, a Grammy-winning artist known for cinematic hits like “All the Stars” for Black Panther, the Hathaway trilogy continues to position itself as a high-profile global entry in the long-running Gundam franchise. For fans of anime and music, this trailer is definitely not to be missed.
