
Some local governments have announced class suspension this Monday, January 5, 2026 due to bad weather and continued heavy rains in various parts of the country.
PAGASA warns that the shear line will cause heavy rains, especially in mountainous and high-altitude areas, and the impact may be exacerbated by previous rains.
Here are the areas with no classes at all levels, public and private:
Bicol Region – Camarines Sur: Caramoan
Eastern Visayas – Biliran: Culaba; Eastern Samar: San Policarpio; Leyte: Carigara, Dulag, Palo, San Miguel, Tabontabon, Tacloban; Northern Samar: all areas; Samar: Basey, Catbalogan, Daram, Zumarraga (the Jiabong is primary to secondary only)
Negros Island Region – Negros Oriental: Bindoy, Manjuyod
The public is advised to remain alert, follow local government notices, and await further announcements in case more areas are covered by class suspension.
