The first film of Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway will be made into an episodic TV version before the release of the second film this January 2026. This aims to fill the long gap between the two movies and prepare fans for the upcoming sequel.
The episodic release will premiere on January 6, 2026 on TV Tokyo and other partner channels. The next film, titled The Sorcery of Nymph Circe, is scheduled to premiere on January 30, 2026.
Directors are Shūkō Murase and Hiroyuki Sawano are in charge of the music. The production quality remains high, as expected from the Gundam franchise.
The episodic cut will retell the story from the first film, featuring the battles and personal struggles of Hathaway Noa, including her connection to Gigi Andalucia and her role in the MAFTY group against the Earth Federation.
The original cast and staff remain intact, so this release will serve as a refresher and a bridge to the next chapter of the ambitious space opera trilogy.
