
The technical issue on the MRT-3 this morning caused inconvenience to passengers, after the train stopped before reaching Ortigas Station. According to some riders, it suddenly stopped while on its way to the station.
It reportedly took almost an hour before passengers were disembarked and escorted to Ortigas Ave. Station. MRT-3 confirmed that there was a technical issue around 6 a.m. between Santolan and Ortigas southbound that caused the delay.
Assistance was provided to affected passengers while the maintenance team conducted thorough safety checks and repairs to restore the line's operation. By 8:00 a.m., MRT-3 announced that they had returned to normal operations at a speed of 60 kph.
As compensation, they offered free rides for all passengers throughout the day. They also extended an apology for the inconvenience experienced by the public.
