The highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) has been delayed again, and according to reports, Rockstar Games will incur additional costs of up to ₱3.4 billion (equivalent to $60 million USD).
According to a gaming insider, the delay is costing the company nearly ₱560 million per month. When developers' salaries and other expenses are included, the total additional costs could reach nearly ₱5.6 billion.
GTA VI was originally set for May 2025, but it was moved to November 29, 2026 in order to achieve the level of quality that players expect. The company said they needed more time to “finish the game with the level of polish that fans deserve.”
While the latest delay is disappointing, excitement remains high in the gaming community. Many are still hoping that the wait will be worth it for Rockstar Games's most ambitious project yet.
