
The De La Salle Green Archers nearly caught up but found a way to pull out a 74-72 win over the FEU Tamaraws in the UAAP Season 88 men’s basketball. Their lead reached 14 points at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion before Janrey Pasaol sparked FEU’s fierce pursuit.
In the last seven seconds, Jorick Bautista missed his layup that could have tied the game. Because of this, La Salle finally got the win and improved to a 2-1 record. They are still coming off a loss against UST so it is important for them to get back to winning ways.
Star Doy Dungo for the Archers after recording 17 points even without Kean Baclaan due to a sprained ankle. Mason Amos and Jacob Cortez also contributed with 14 points each, while EJ Gollena contributed 13 points and 8 rebounds.
On FEU's side, Janrey Pasaol showed up to score 25 points. He is joined by Mo Konateh with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Kirby Mongcopa with 13 points. In the end, they came up short and fell to an 0-3 record in the tournament.
La Salle will next face the rival Ateneo Blue Eagles this Sunday, while FEU will face the Adamson Falcons on the same day.
