A strong southwesterly wind will bring rain to Luzon and the western part of Visayas today. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains are expected over Metro Manila and most of Luzon.
There is a possibility of heavy rains and thunderstorms for a few hours. This may cause flooding in low-lying areas and landslips in mountainous regions, especially in Ilocos Sur, La Union, Benguet, Pangasinan, and Zambales.
The government reminded the public to be prepared and avoid flood-prone areas. Affected families and residents were advised to be careful and evacuate immediately if necessary.
Meanwhile, the Parent-Teacher Association said the decision on class suspension should come from local governments and the Department of Education, after some private schools objected to the automatic granting of power to an official.
The weather situation is being continuously monitored to ensure the safety of everyone, especially students and workers.
