President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. called for unity and respect for differences in commemorating the 42nd anniversary of the death of Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. According to Marcos, this occasion becomes more meaningful when the lessons of the past are applied in our actions and governance.
Marcos said that remembering Ninoy is a reminder that peace should take precedence over conflict and dignity is more important than difference. He also emphasized that history is not just a judgment but a continuous lesson that should guide leadership and service to the nation.
The President added that as time passes, the country sees more clearly the significance of the events, especially Ninoy's sacrifice that opened the door to the country's transformation. He called this day an invitation to lead with conscience, insight, and respect.
Meanwhile, in offering flowers at NAIA Terminal 1, Senator Bam Aquino called for not forgetting Ninoy's dream for good government and a just society. He stressed that there are still many challenges such as corruption that must be fought.
For Ninoy's relatives and supporters, his sacrifice is a symbol of courage and hope that continues to inspire Filipinos to this day.
