A video of a dog sitting in a baby high chair while its owner eats at a fast food restaurant has gone viral and drawn criticism online.
According to the uploader of the video, not only was he made to sit in a high chair, he was also allegedly made to drink from a glass that customers use. “It’s disgusting, he’s made to drink from a glass. What if the dog has rabies and it wasn’t washed properly, what then?” the uploader said. The glass is also seen on the floor after use.
Many netizens reacted and said that human things should not be used for dogs. “Why make them sit in a high chair? If you have a dog, they should have their own stroller. Maybe the next person sitting there has allergies or asthma,” said one comment. Another user added, “Pets should have their own things if you are a responsible pet owner.”
Some also expressed concern for children. “There are babies who can have severe allergic reactions. Especially since their immune systems are not yet developed,” said one.
The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) has warned pet owners to be responsible in public spaces. “Using public spaces that are meant for humans poses health risks to children and can undermine public trust in pet-friendly environments,” the statement said.
