The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested a person in Tacloban City for illegally copying and selling copyrighted law review materials.
The suspect was caught while offering video lectures and files to a Facebook group in exchange for payment, without permission from the owner of the materials.
An entrapment operation on July 31 resulted in the arrest of the suspect after a law firm filed a complaint. According to evidence, he was caught on CCTV selling a hard drive containing law review materials for ₱3,000.
The suspect will be charged with violating the Cybercrime Prevention Act, Electronic Commerce Act, and Intellectual Property Code.
