A wife Chanda, a resident of Brgy. Cagbatang, Cataingan, Masbate, was found dead, naked, and burned in a remote area in Sitio Busay, Brgy. Pawican on Friday afternoon. She left her home on Wednesday morning on her motorcycle to remit money to their lending company but never returned home.
That night, her relatives began to worry because she did not return home. A few days later, residents saw Chanda's motorcycle beside the barangay road.
A few hours later, her uncovered body was discovered with wounds on her body. It is believed that she was murdered and burned to cover up the crime. There is also suspicion that she was raped before being murdered.
According to the police, they are investigating whether the suspect's motive was holdup because the victim was allegedly carrying money and possibly resisted.
Chanda's body was subjected to an autopsy to determine the true cause of her death and whether she was indeed a victim of rape. Investigations are ongoing to determine the culprit.
