A motorcycle rider died after an accident on the Transcentral Highway (TCH) in Barangay Cansomoroy, Balamban at around 11:05 a.m., Saturday, May 10, 2025.
The victim was identified as Giolo Laurente, 35 years old, and a resident of Ormoc City, Leyte. According to police, the motorcycle was traveling at high speed while traveling from west to east of the highway.
Upon reaching the curved part of the road, Laurente allegedly lost control, crashed and flipped off the side of the road. Due to the force of the collision, he sustained severe bodily injuries.
Rescuers immediately helped him and took him to the Balamban Provincial Hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
