OPM legend Hajji Alejandro, known for his signature song “Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika,” has passed away. His family confirmed the news and requested privacy while they mourn. Hajji is survived by three children — Rachel, Barni, and Ali.

Before pursuing a solo career, Hajji was a member of the Circus Band with Basil Valdez, Tillie Moreno, and other artists. He was nicknamed "Kilabot ng mga Kolehiyala" because of his charm and singing skills, especially during his campus tours in the 1970s.

In 1978, he participated in the Metropop Music Festival and won with “Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika” written by Ryan Cayabyab. He also won the Grand Prix at the Seoul Song Festival in Korea—a great honor for Filipino music.

In his later years, Hajji joined concert tours such as "Four Kings and a Queen” with Rey Valera and Pops Fernandez. He also performed in Australia and at the "Awit ng Panahon" concert at New Frontier with other OPM legends.

Hajji passed away after a battle with stage 4 colon cancer that had spread to his lungs and liver. He was last seen on his 70th birthday, still happily together with family and friends. Hajji contributed immensely to OPM, and his musical legacy will never be forgotten.
