Two were injured after being shot in front of a sari-sari store in Balasan, Iloilo last night. According to P/Capt. Renzo Martinez, chief of Balasan MPS, the victims identified as Jay-Jay and Kizza (both 23) were drinking at a table in the store in Brgy. Poblacion Sur. Suddenly, two men appeared suspiciously; one had a gun and the other had a sharp. Out of fear, the two ran but were caught by one of the suspects and shot.
Currently, authorities are still investigating the incident. Many people have provided information about possible suspects and are also reviewing CCTV footage in the area. Police said the cooperation of residents is important to speed up the closure of the case.
The incident caused a huge alarm in the community. Many residents came out of their homes to provide information and be alert to their surroundings. "It's really scary, especially when you know that you're not safe even in the place you used to hang out," said one of the neighbors.
Meanwhile, the families of the victims are deeply concerned and are demanding justice. They hope that the perpetrators will be arrested immediately and given the appropriate punishment. The case is currently being handled by the local police and investigations are ongoing to obtain the full details of the incident.
