The Japanese Embassy in Manila has announced that it will officially open its new visa centers powered by VFS Global starting April 7, 2025. Applicants can start booking appointments on the VFS Global website at https://visa.vfsglobal.com/phl/en/jpn/attend-centre starting March 19.

The Japan Visa Application Centre (JVAC) will have five locations in the Philippines: Cebu City, Davao City, Makati City, Parañaque City, and Quezon City. According to the embassy, applications will no longer be accepted at accredited agencies after April 6, 2025. For applicants who have already submitted their applications to accredited agencies before April 6, the issuance of their passports will remain at the same agencies.

The JVAC centers aim to provide a more streamlined and convenient service to visa applicants. The centers will be open from Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and application hours are from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is a fee of PHP520 for using the center, in addition to the visa fee which varies depending on the applicant's nationality and type of application.

Here are five locations where you can file a visa application:

  1. Cebu City: Faustina Center, Level 6, F. Cabahug Street, Kasambagan
  2. Davao City: Unit FEG 9-10 2nd Floor, Alfresco Area, Felcris Centrale, Quimpo Blvd.
  3. Makati City: Ground Floor, Makati Circuit Corporate Center Tower Two, AP Reyes St.
  4. Parañaque City: Level 3, Parqal Mall, Building 5, Diokno Avenue corner Macapagal Blvd.
  5. Quezon City: Level 3, Gateway Tower Mall, Araneta City

This new setup aims to make the application process faster and more convenient and provide more effective services for those wishing to apply for a visa to Japan.
