A 38-year-old man who was among the top 6 most wanted of the Antipolo Police was arrested for a Carnapping case on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
He was arrested in an operation by the Provincial Highway Patrol Team of Rizal and Antipolo Police at a house in Barangay Nayon.
According to the PNP investigation, it emerged that in January 2025, the suspect sold a stolen motorcycle to his neighbor — who happened to be a friend of the motorcycle's real owner.
""Our suspect had a friend who gave him a motorcycle to sell. He didn't know that the motorcycle was stolen and belonged to their neighbor," explained Police Lieutenant Orlando Jalmasco, Public Information Officer of the Antipolo CCPS."
Because of this, when the victim saw the motorcycle for sale, he immediately sought help from the barangay, and they confirmed that it was the stolen motorcycle.
The suspect was previously involved in a snatching case in 2003.
The man admitted that he sold the motorcycle but insisted that he did not know that it was stolen.
"My friend came to me because he needed money. He sold me the motorcycle. I didn't know that it was stolen," the suspect said.
