Porsche hinted at the return of the GT2 RS, the most powerful model of its 911 variant, in its latest financial report. It also confirmed that it will release a new gas-powered SUV possibly before the end of the decade.
In their report, Porsche mentioned the continued development of their 911 lineup, including “highly emotive derivatives” and “exciting limited-edition models.” One of these is the new flagship model that is expected to further raise standards in the sports car segment, possibly hinting at the return of the GT2 or GT2 RS.
The last version of the GT2 RS came out in the 991.2 generation, with 700 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque from a twin-turbocharged flat-six engine. If it does return, it is expected to retain its traditional setup — rear-wheel drive, enhanced aerodynamics, and track-ready performance. It could be released in 2026 or 2027.
Apart from the 911, Porsche will also expand its SUV lineup. They confirmed that they are studying a new SUV model that will have combustion and hybrid powertrains. This is different from the upcoming all-electric Macan, as the new model will continue to have a gas-powered engine. It is expected to be released before the end of the decade.
