BANDAI SPIRITS from their TAMASHII NATIONS division announced the latest product from the 『METAL ROBOT』 series with a combination of metallic paint and alloy frame, 「GQuuuuuuuX」, which is from the new anime 機動戰士Gundam GQuuuuuuuX. The product is expected to be released in August 2025.
The new anime 機動戰士Gundam GQuuuuuuX is a project of two major animation companies, khara (known for Neon Genesis Evangelion) and SUNRISE (the creator of Mobile Suit Gundam). It was directed by Evangelion: The New Movie director Kazuya Tsurumaki, along with mechanical designer Ikuto Yamashita, and scriptwriters Yoji Enokido and Hideaki Anno.
The character design was done by illustrator Take, known for his designs for the Pokémon series. The main character Matsu is voiced by voice actress Tomoyo Kurosawa, so the high quality of the anime is expected and it has a lot of buzz in the community.
The story of 機動戰士Gundam GQuuuuuuX follows Amano Renka, a girl who lives in a space colony and has a sense of unreality in her life. One day, he meets a young refugee Nean and accidentally becomes the pilot of the mysterious mobile suit GQuuuuuuX. He falls into an illegal Mobile Suit (MS) duel competition called "Battle Group Duel", and changes his name to Matsu and becomes a part of intense battles every day.
METAL ROBOT GQuuuuuuX will be presented through a high resolution model and alloy movable frame that reflects Ikuto Yamashita's unique design.
The entire body of the model has a colorful paint and transfer printing feature that shows complex colors and lines, providing detailed details.
Some joints are made of alloy materials to provide a solid metal feel, as well as a weight suitable for use. Parts such as ball-shaped components in the shoulder armor and tubular thrusters in the backpack have movable mechanisms that reduce the interference of the model's motion.
Weapons and accessories include a dedicated stand, axe-shaped melee weapon, beam rifle, dedicated shield, and beam melee weapon with curved blade, all of which can be attached to the model's body to provide dynamic battle poses .
