A well-known US television presenter Savannah Guthrie has made an emotional plea to her mother's kidnappers, while Donald Trump continues to hope for a positive outcome in the case that has shocked America. In a video posted on social media, she directly addressed those responsible and asked them to do the right thing.
Guthrie, who co-hosts NBC News' “Today” show, said, “It's not too late. You're not alone. You can still do the right thing.” He also expressed their continued hope and belief that his mother is still safe and will be reunited with their family.
Her mother, Nancy Guthrie, 84, was abducted from their home in Arizona on February 1. A doorbell camera captured the image of a masked suspect, but after that, the traces seemed to disappear. More than two weeks later, investigators found a glove a few kilometers from the house that may have belonged to the suspect. It is undergoing DNA testing as part of a thorough investigation.
Meanwhile, Trump said he was continuing to monitor news about the case while at his golf club in Florida for the Presidents Day weekend. He praised authorities who he said were working with skill and dedication, and expressed hope that this would lead to a good outcome. The public continues to await further updates on this case that has become the center of national attention.
