Good Smile Company has once again introduced a new collectible in its COVERS series, featuring two popular characters from the anime SSSS.GRIDMAN—Rikka Takarada and Akane Shinjou—designed by renowned artist toridamono, who is best known for the game Atelier Ryza. The new PVC figures are targeted to be released in February 2027, ready to provide a unique aesthetic for collectors.
The two characters are made in 1/7 scale, standing approximately 22 cm tall, and each expression is detailed to portray their personalities. Gradient printing is used for the eyes, as well as warm tones for the face, lips, and cheeks, bringing life and character to each figure. Their poses, which are close-knit and cute, are accurately reproduced from toridamono's original illustration.
The focus isn't just on the face—the clothing and accessories are also incredibly detailed. Layering in the shading, folds in the clothing, and patterns on the skirts bring the soft lighting effects of the original art to life. There are also small props that reflect the characters' everyday lives, like Akane's monster-themed accessory and Rikka's small teddy bear charm, adding to the connection to the anime world.
Another highlight is the custom-designed sneakers for both characters. Rikka's shoes are inspired by Denkou Choujin Gridman, while Akane's are themed after the villain Aggravian Crews. The soles are made of transparent parts, and the surface has a pearl coating, which gives a combination of realism and futuristic touch. Comes with interchangeable hand parts and display base, so each figure can also be displayed separately.
For fans who want to collect separately, there are also solo figures of Rikka Takarada feat. toridamono and Akane Shinjou feat. toridamono, both released in the same month. With prices starting at 19,800 yen, these new PVC models are sure to become favorites among anime enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.
