
A ferry carrying 342 passengers sinked into the sea near Pilas Island, Basilan on Monday morning, sparking a massive rescue operation and mourning after eight fatalities were confirmed.
According to the mayor of Basilan, there are 8 confirmed victims who died in the M/V Trisha Kerstin 3 incident, while verification of the condition of the others on board is ongoing. The local government described the situation as critical and rapidly evolving.
