A stabbing incident occurred inside the PNP Anti-Organized Crime Unit in Quezon City after a police officer stabbed his co-accused while both were in restrictive custody. The incident caused great alarm among the police force because it occurred right inside the PNP premises.
According to initial reports, the suspect and victim are among six CIDG personnel being investigated in connection with the alleged loss of cash evidence seized in a POGO raid in Bataan in 2024. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. as police were preparing for their scheduled preliminary investigation.
Based on witness testimony, several staff members were in the facility's kitchen when the victim entered, followed by the suspect who later pulled out a knife. The victim attempted to deter and restrain the suspect, but the confrontation ended with the victim being stabbed in the back.
The injured policeman was immediately rushed to the PNP General Hospital where he is under care and observation due to blood loss. Doctors confirmed that further tests are needed to determine his condition.
After the incident, the suspect was taken into custody while an administrative and criminal investigation was conducted. The weapon used was also recovered and will undergo forensic examination, while coordination with authorities continues for filing the appropriate case and providing support and welfare assistance to the affected personnel.
