The organizers of Traslacion 2026 have released the official traffic advisory and safety guidelines in preparation for the annual procession of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo. Motorists and devotees are advised to plan ahead due to widespread road closures that will be implemented as the andas passes through major roads in Manila.
Starting 5:00 p.m. on January 8, road closures are expected to be implemented, especially on southbound routes, and will remain in place until the end of the procession. The temporary closures include selected sections of Roxas Boulevard, Padre Burgos, Ayala Bridge, and several streets near Quiapo. Some routes will remain closed to ensure the rapid passage of emergency vehicles and rescue teams.
For devotees heading to the Quirino Grandstand and those following the procession, it is recommended to use the designated alternate routes and join the flow of the procession from the rear, not the front, to avoid crowding and danger. Planning ahead, following the notice, and respecting safety protocols are essential to maintaining order and the safety of all during this historic celebration.
