The local government of San Miguel, Bulacan has closed an amusement park after its rides were found to be dangerous.
According to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the rides at the facility are not safe for children and the elderly.
Lt. Col. Voltaire Rivera, San Miguel police chief, said the facility on Camias Bypass Road was built before the holiday season. The inspection was conducted immediately after several accidents were reported at amusement parks in Pampanga and Pangasinan.
Inspections found that the amusement park did not have a safety certificate and did not obtain permits from the barangay and municipal government before starting operations.
In additional information, 11 people were injured after the Viking pirate ship ride collapsed in San Jacinto, Pangasinan, with most of the victims being minors.
