The number coding scheme in Metro Manila will be suspended for eight days during the Christmas and New Year holidays, according to the MMDA.
Suspension dates are Dec. 23 to 25 and Dec. 29 to Jan. 2, 2026, covering both regular and non-special holidays. The policy also pauses when government offices are closed by Malacañang.
Motorists are advised to plan trips ahead and continue to follow traffic rules. Works on EDSA rehabilitation are set to start on Christmas Eve, but Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon assured minimal traffic disruption.
This holiday suspension aims to make travel easier for commuters and drivers in Metro Manila.
