Hero Ahmed al Ahmed, 43, has been hailed across Australia after he stopped a gunman at Bondi Beach in Sydney. In a viral video, he can be seen approaching one of the gunmen as he opened fire on people and snatching the gun from the attacker's hand.
Ahmed, a fruit seller, was wounded by two bullets while rescuing others. According to his cousin, Mustapha, “He is a 100 percent hero and we hope he recovers in the hospital.”
He was praised by US President Donald Trump, who said his brave action saved many lives. He was also praised by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and New South Wales Premier Chris Minns.
Unfortunately, 16 people were killed and many more were injured in the so-called terrorist attack targeting the Jewish community. Despite the tragedy, Ahmed and others showed bravery and heroism in helping others.
