President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is open to talking to anyone, including Vice President Sara Duterte, for the national interest, according to Presidential Communications Secretary Dave Gomez. He said the President prioritizes “results, not drama” amid the flood control scandal.
Gomez said the President is clear about the ongoing investigation into the controversy. He added that the Palace remains “steady and focused” because the issue of flood control and the allegations surrounding it are serious.
Gomez also said that Marcos Jr. believes that his son, Rep. Sandro Marcos, was not involved in the alleged irregularities, even though Ilocos Norte was among the major recipients of funds. The President is said to be still reviewing the report.
On a separate occasion, Marcos Jr. recognized several barangays that demonstrated excellent and honest public service in the Galing Pook Awards 2025. He praised initiatives focused on transparency, accountability, and human welfare, such as the solar-power program, urban gardens, sign language training, and community justice garden.
The President encouraged other barangays to emulate these unique projects to improve governance nationwide and strengthen public trust.
