Superstar Luka Doncic was not happy with the Lakers' special NBA Cup court, which he called slippery and dangerous. According to him, he slipped many times and it was dangerous for the players.
Doncic was more than happy with the Lakers' support, especially when Jaxson Hayes defended him in the final part of the game after being pushed by Kris Dunn. He even said he would pay Hayes' fine.
Doncic showed off his game with 43 points, 13 assists, and 9 rebounds, as the Lakers beat the Clippers, 135-118. But despite the good play, Doncic said he was uncomfortable on the yellow NBA Cup court, which was new and slippery.
The situation became heated when Dunn brought Doncic down, followed by pressing the ball into his chest. Hayes stepped in and pushed Dunn back. Dunn was ejected after receiving two technical fouls.
Doncic said he loves this kind of teamwork and he's not afraid of anyone on the court. He's also happy that the Lakers are in the NBA Cup quarterfinals, and he's enjoying the tournament because it's familiar from the cup competitions he's played in Europe.
