The sudden explosion of fishing dynamite they were making instantly killed two men inside their small house in Barangay Tulay, Jolo, Sulu on Saturday, November 22.
Lt. Col. Annidul Sali, chief of the Jolo Municipal Police Station, confirmed that Abdul Tiri Basang (70) and Indal Tho Pascual (40) died due to severe injuries from the powerful explosion that completely destroyed their home.
According to local officials, Basang and Pascual are known to make and sell fishing dynamite using ammonium nitrate or potassium chlorate. They also said that two people were injured in the incident: Tulli Mislani (40) and Nuraisa Mislani Pascual (37). The explosion was so powerful that the damage to their house was almost irreparable.
