
The PhilHealth reminded the public that those with symptoms of dengue should immediately see a doctor and not worry about the cost. The agency assured that the treatment will still be covered by their benefits.
According to PhilHealth, there is a P19,500 benefit for dengue fever and P47,000 for severe dengue. This aims to help patients and their families reduce hospital expenses.
Dengue cases are expected to increase further after the devastation of Typhoon Tino and Uwan. Because of this, the agency has reinforced its reminder to be prompt in seeking medical help.
Based on data from the Department of Health, there have been 14,000 cases of dengue from October 12 to 25. Experts continue to monitor its increase in various regions.
PhilHealth also said not to hesitate to seek treatment. According to them, it is safer to treat symptoms immediately to avoid severe dengue and other complications.
