Members of the Filipinos Do Not Yield (FDNY) movement gathered at the Mabuhay Rotonda in Quezon City on Tuesday to express their support for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. According to Giselle Albano, spokesperson for the FDNY, the group organized the rally to show the overwhelming support of more than 31 million voters for the President in the 2022 elections.
"The Filipino people, whoever the sitting President is, we installed him... 31 million Filipinos voted for him. So it is only right that we follow the constitution," he said.
Albano noted that the movement is not connected to any politician and its goal is solely to support the administration. He added that the group aims to continue its activities nationwide to show that there is a group willing to support the President, many of whose members are considered Marcos loyalists.
In dealing with differing political views, Albano encouraged the public to stand firm in their beliefs. “We all have our own stand. So, whatever you stand for, believe it… but when you know it’s not right, don’t be blind anymore,” he said, emphasizing respect for individual choices while acknowledging the realities under the current administration.
