Horizon Steel Frontiers has been officially announced as a new MMO for mobile and PC. The story is set in Deadlands, a place inspired by Arizona and New Mexico. Here, thousands of players will simultaneously move through the same world.
In this game, you will create your own Machine Hunter using deep character creation. You can choose a style from well-known tribes such as Nora, Tenakth, Utaru, and Oseram. There are different gear and roles depending on your preferred gameplay.
The main action of the game is big battles against machines. There are new systems such as the Pullcaster to climb over damaged parts of the machine, trap setting for status effects, and obtaining machine weapons that can be attached to your mount.
The design is mobile-first but also has full support for PC. There is cross-platform play, so players can join together in raids, co-op missions, and quick hunts. It targets both short sessions and long gameplay.
The team says they aim to bring the “thrill of knocking down colossal machines” while maintaining Horizon's iconic identity. Stay tuned for the release date.
