Filipina tennis star Alex Eala is one of the selected athletes who will compete in the 2025 MGM Macau Tennis Masters. It will be held at the Macau Forum from December 27 to 28, where Li Na and Conchita Martínez will also be featured as team captains who will select their respective players before the match begins.
Eala will join Li Na, Shang Juncheng, and Jack Draper in the club. This is an exhibition tournament that also features Mirra Andreeva and Jakub Menšík, who are known for their skills on the international tennis court.
After a successful season, Eala finished at World No. 50 — the highest ranking of her career. She gained nearly ₱90,000,000 worth of performance points (equivalent to nearly 90 positions) after consecutive tournament wins in Asia and Europe.
At the age of 20 years old, Eala continues to show her talent and determination. She is also expected to participate in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand from December 9 to 20, where she will once again bring honor to the Philippines.
Eala's participation in the Macau Tennis Masters is further inspiration to young athletes who dream of making it in the international sports arena.
