
A 70-year-old grandmother was found dead and bloody in her bedroom at her sister-in-law's house in Barangay San Isidro, Taytay, Rizal. According to police, the suspect is a 49-year-old woman, a former caregiver of the victim's sister-in-law's relative.
Based on the investigation, the victim, Rosie Mon, and the suspect spoke before the incident. The victim promised to help her find a job as a laundress. The suspect is said to have come from Rodriguez, Rizal and traveled to Taytay to meet her.
The next day, the victim was found dead. Police caught the suspect at his son's house in Barangay San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal. He confessed to the crime but said it was only self-defense after the victim allegedly hit him with a stick.
The suspect said he got angry after the victim allegedly insulted his family. In a fit of rage, he hit the old man on the head with an electric grinder several times. According to police, he was hit at least eight times. The cause of death was severe bleeding (hemorrhagic shock).
The suspect expressed great remorse and asked for forgiveness from the victim's family. But for the family, their only wish is for justice. "What he did was very painful for us. I hope he pays for his crime," said the victim's brother.
