
Veteran actress Gloria “Lollie” Mara has passed away at the age of 86. Her family confirmed the news on October 18 in a Facebook post. According to them, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who cherished everyone she met.
Lollie Mara was known for many films from the 1980s such as Bagets 2, Pasayo, Nimfa, Barbi for President, Victim, Dinampot Ka Lang sa Putik, Forevermore, and Unang Tibok ng Puso. He also appeared in popular teleseryes such as Coffee Prince, Be Careful With My Heart, Kambal, Karibal, Magpakailanman, and Maalaala Mo Kaya.
In the films Praybeyt Benjamin and The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin, she played Vice Ganda's grandmother. She also appeared in Shake Rattle and Roll as Mother Agnes and as Hank's mother in the segment Unwanted. In 2016, she was awarded the Best Supporting Actress at Cinemalaya for the film Ang Bagong Pamilya ni Poching.
Aside from his roles in film and television, he also served as the head of Radio Television Malacañang during the time of former President Fidel Ramos. His contributions to the film industry and public service will continue to be remembered.
