
Team Asia is almost certain of their back-to-back Reyes Cup title after showing off their skills again on Day 3 of the match at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, Manila. They won both matches and held a huge 9-1 lead entering the final day of the tournament.
Team Rest of the World got their first win when they defeated Carlo Biado and Aloysius Yapp by a score of 5-4. Feder Gorst and Skylar Woodward took the lead, but Biado and Yapp recovered to tie the match. In the end, rookie Moritz Neuhausen provided the point for the World team.
Team Asia bounced back in the next match. Duong Quoc Huang from Vietnam showed off his skills by defeating Woodward, 5-1. He was nicknamed “The Martian” for his near-perfect game that gave Asia momentum back.
In the final match of Day 3, Biado and Yapp once again joined forces to defeat Francisco Sanchez Ruiz and Neuhausen. They finished the match without giving up a rack, 5-0, demonstrating their champion status.
Team Asia now holds a 9-1 lead over Team Rest of the World. The opponent will need a miracle to catch up and snatch the Reyes Cup title from the defending champion.
