The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has once again taken action and confiscated 13 luxury vehicles owned by contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya.
According to the report, the cars were brought from the compound of St. Gerrard Construction in Pasig City to Port Area, Manila at around 1:00 a.m. this Wednesday. A police convoy was also present to ensure security during the operation.
Lt. Col. Rommel Anicete of MPD Station 13 confirmed that a warrant of seizure was issued before the vehicles were transferred to the BOC. By 5:27 a.m., the last batch of luxury cars had entered the facility.
In September, the BOC announced that a total of 28 luxury vehicles linked to the Discaya family were now in the agency's custody. They are estimated to be worth millions, which would reach hundreds of millions of pesos when converted to local currency.
The Discaya couple was also previously embroiled in the issue after they said they were "used" by some lawmakers and DPWH officials in connection with anomalies in flood control projects.
